Truth Talks:

A resource to inform and equip Christians on cultural issues that affect the church.

The goal of this ministry is to create a place where people can go to find truth in the chaos that is present in our society. We will bring in speakers to discuss current events and cultural issues that affect the church, while providing tools for believers to get involved and shed light on issues that Christians are facing worldwide.

  • AB 665: - State-Sanctioned Kidnapping Bill

    This bill says a counselor, or counselor trainee, can place a child as young as 12 years old in a residential shelter based on the child's "OK" alone. No parental consent or notification is required, and no allegation of abuse or threat of serious self-harm is necessary before this can happen.

  • AB 957 - Judges Must Side with Trans-Affirming Parents Over Custody

    This bill will require judges to equate "affirmation of child gender transition" directly with a child's "health, safety, and welfare" when determining custody or visitation rights. Consequently, parents who do not affirm the chosen gender identity of their child (of any age) risk having their child taken from them.

  • AB 1078 - The State Usurping Control from Local School Boards over Curriculum

    This bill will make it harder for local school boards to remove pornographic books and sexualized curriculum from school libraries and classrooms. The bill also removes the flexibility school boards currently have to determine what is taught and at what ages related to LGBTQ issues and CRT and lets the state fine school districts if textbooks aren't "inclusive and diverse" enough.

  • AB 5 - Training Teachers to Profile Non-LGBTQ+ Affirming Parents

    This bill trains teachers how to affirm LGBTQ identities in K-12 students. The lessons must include instructions on how to identify "LGBTQ+ youth who are subject to, or may be at risk of, bullying and lack of acceptance at home or in their communities" and their obligation to lie to parents if a child changes names and pronouns at school. It is not difficult to see that the intention is to profile Christian parents and church communities.

  • SB 596 - Silencing Parental Free Speech

    Silences parental free speech making it a crime to cause a school board member to be "seriously alarmed" or causes them "substantial emotional distress." These are vague terms open to interpretation and abuse. Those found guilty could spend a year in jail or receive a $1000 fine.
